The current project is a solution for minimally invasive surgery. The medical device we are working on solves a problem of traction in surgery allowing surgeons to perform any surgery while lowering the number of incisions. The medical device is composed of inner deploy tweezers that are capable of performing inner organ traction by means of a magnetic field manipulated from outside the body. The advantages for the patients are very clear mainly being: less scars less pain lower inflammation and lower risk of bleeding and infection. The sum of all of this is a better surgical technique with a faster recovery and increase in the quality of life. Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy is one of the most frequent surgeries around the world. The use of this device will be very critical in a new technique in the actual implementation as a single incision cholecystectomy which is a laparoscopic removal of the gallbladder only using one incision at the level of the umbilicus instead of the usual four incisions. The device allows performing this new technique in an easier and shorter way which at the end is an increase in the benefits for the patient.This project has the CORFO support for International patenting PROYECTO 09APPI-5279 .
