Our proposal consist in the development of a low cost device for sleep monitoring and sleep breathing disorders detection based on very recent scientific research developed by the same authors of this application. This device features lower cost broader application and higher precision than other devices available in the market. Our scientific results show that an index applied to breath data can reveal the structure of sleep and describe sleep breathing disorder in a remarkable simple and at the same time detailed fashion. The main innovation of the device is the incorporation of an index that is computed using a novel time-frequency-domain signal processing capable to uncover aspects of the signal information that are invisible through the direct time-domain analysis or using Fourier analysis (Díaz et al. 2007).
