The Products We Want To Present Include Two Labs On a Chip (loc) Based On Micro Fluidic Technology That Enables Rapid Antibiotic Susceptibility In Samples Without Incubation. The Devices Will Function As An Antibiotic Susceptibility Test And Will Accurately Analyze Urinary And Blood Samples To Determine What Antibiotic To Use In a Time Frame Equal To Or Less Than That Of a Conventional Laboratory Diagnostic Testone Of the Loc We Are Developing is Able To Identify Antibiotic Susceptibility From Urine Samples In Patients Having Urinary Infections While the Other is Able To Determine the Correct Antibiotic To Use From a Blood Sample Obtained In Patients Affected By Sepsis. The Urinary Lab On a Chip is Intended To Be Used As a Point-of-care Device In Rural Areas Posts Hospitals That Neither Does Nor Offer 24 / 7 Services. The Intended User is a Trained And Certified Lab Technician Who Has Access To a Lab In An Urban Area Or In a Rural Community Health Centre And the Intended Patient is a Person Suffering From Bacteria-related Urinary Infections. The Idea To Develop a Lab On a Chip For Patient Having Sepsis Arose From a Quick Look Made By Diagnochip To Nurses And Physicians Of Hospital del Salvador a National Comprehensive Reference Hospital In Chile. the Intended User is a Specialized Critical Care Nurse And the Intended Patients Are Those Affected By Sepsis. Both Point-of-care Antibiograms Are Following a Medical Device Development Process That Will Conform Regulatory Standards (iso 13485 Ce Fda) so Using a Design Control-based Approach Products Will Meet Pre-market Approvals And Enable Diagnochip To Sell the Technology And / Or the Products In a Variety Of Countries Including Chile. The Purposes Of These Devices Are To Increase Medical And Economical Efficiency Because They Are Focused To Test Antibiotic Sensitivity In Diseases Having a Global Burden Faster Than Conventional Manual Antibiogram At the Point Of Care Attention Contributing To Decrease Antibiotic Resistance. The Labs-on-chip We Are Developing Are Small Sized Pre-charged With the Requested Reagents In a Disposable Cartridge. The Micro Fluidic Chips Contain Tiny Chambers To Hold Bacteria Samples Along With a Food Mixture Containing the Antibiotic And a Dye Material Which the Bacteria Consume. The Bacteria Consume the Food In the Presence Of the Antibiotic And the By-product Can Be Seen Using the Colour Change. If the Bacteria Live In Spite Of the Antibiotic It Glows. If the Antibiotic is Effective Then the Bacteria Die And the Sample Dos Not Glow. As the Device is Ready To Use the Technician Only Need To Introduce the Sample In the Micro Wells And Then Put It In the Incubator For 24 30 Hours. After the Incubation Process Results Will Be Read By Using a Colour Scalethe Chips Can Be Produced With a Standardized Cost Efficient Technology so Our Products Are Cheap Suitable To Epidemiological Conditions Of Any Country Or Region User-friendly Readily Available And Easy To Operate Representing An Appropriate Solution In Most Isolated Low Resource Settings ( Urinary Lab On a Chip) And In Critical Care Units (blood Lab On a Chip).
