A Simple Test That Uses a Small Sample Of the Fine Needle Aspirate That Allows Performing a Molecular Profile Of the Thyroid Nodule Prior To Surgery. The Molecular Profile Will More Accurately Indicate the Risk Of Malignancy Of the Thyroid Nodule Reported As a Follicular Neoplasms. This Test Aims To Improve the Pre-operative Diagnostic Accuracy Of the Presence Of a Malignant Tumor. It Should Be Used In Patients Undergoing a Diagnostic Workup Of a Thyroid Nodule so It Will Be Possible To Identify Patients That Truly Need Surgery And More Importantly Avoid Surgery In Patients That Do Not Require It. Frequently the Cytological Diagnosis is Reported As a Follicular Neoplasm. This Diagnosis Cannot Rule Out the Presence Of a Malignancy Therefore Surgery is Indicated. However No More Than 25% Of These Nodules Are Confirmed To Be Thyroid Cancer Which Means That 75% Of the Patients Underwent Unnecessary Surgery. Currently In the Market There is No Accepted Test That Will Improve Our Pre-operative Diagnostic Accuracy Of Follicular Neoplasms.
